Piano Lessons & Group Classes
A veteran piano teacher of 25 years, Jen has graduated students who have gone on to attain music degrees and become music professionals. But she is equally at home teaching the wee beginner or recreational adult musician. A homeschool mom of five, Jen comes naturally to providing nurturing, patient, and encouraging instruction. She is even equipped to handle children with special needs, including autism, ADHD, or selective mutism.
Originally, Jen traveled to students’ homes to teach but she began to pivot to online lessons when Covid-19 made in-person lessons difficult. Her husband, Dave, has created a state-of-the-art remote lesson studio, utilizing his experience as a broadcast engineer, AV engineer, and computer programmer. Though skeptics of online lessons abound, Jen has many clients who have been taking online lessons with her for the four years since Covid-19. Their loyalty and trust in her online instruction is a testament to her teaching and methods.
Piano Performance
Jen has worn many hats over the course of her musical career, including cocktail pianist, composer, arranger, resident pianist for a five-star resort, church pianist, choir accompanist, musical theatre pianist, music director, band keyboardist, orchestra pianist, songwriter, back-up vocalist, jazz singer, and more. She loves to weave her classical training together with jazz influences in all of her interpretations. She has a three-hour memorized program of music and plays everything from vibrant original compositions to showtunes and jazz standards. She is available for hire in the Las Vegas area.
Original Compositions / Arrangements
Jen also composes and arranges music for both students and piano professionals. We will be making her sheet music available on this website soon.
